LANSING, Mich. (WOOD) - Reports are coming out of Lansing that a shoving match broke out on the House floor between several Democrats on Thursday night.
At least one lawmaker was removed from the House floor by Capitol security after an apparent physical confrontation at the desk of Rep. David Nathan (D-Detroit/District 11). It appears that Rep. Harvey Santana (D-Detroit/District 10) was removed.
Sources on the House floor said that one punch was thrown but did not land.
Ari Adler, spokesperson for House Speaker Jase Bolger, confirmed that there was an altercation involving Santana and Nathan. He said that the House Sergeants reacted immediately and the House resumed its business.
Rep. Roy Schmidt (D-Grand Rapids) was also involved in the altercation.
Schmidt's spokesman Ed Kettle said that Schmidt stepped in to stop the scuffle and that no one was punched.

I'm shocked nobody punched out Pete Stark yet in Congress. He deserved it on a few occasions.
What is most shocking is that the word Democrat is mentioned in the first sentence.
Give the rats pistols. Let them duel.
Out of Detroit where city council meetings sometimes result in threats of “Cap popping”.
Wow, their party affiliation and everything!
Thanks Darren McCarty.

Yes, I saw this story last week on the Detroit News web site. The cause of the altercation was reportedly “frustration” with the legislative session because the GOP held the majority.
Why single out Stark? There are quite a number of 'Rat congresscritters (and former ones) who fall into that category. One that comes to mind immediately is Barney Frank.
