It’s been said many times before....

If not Newt... It will be Romney...

Screwing around in the search for perfection is going to damn us with Mitt McCain.

I think people have been looking into Newt’s recent positions. People change, but if you look at Newt’s recent positions (2007->) on amnesty, global warming, cap-and-trade, Obamacare’s individual mandate, ethanol subsidies etc etc he looks radical progressive. Certainly not a conservative.

Who cares if his ACU rating was high in the 1990’s. His rating since 2007 would be about 0%.

He is no different than Romney policy wice (religion, hair and style differ, though).

We have two actual conservatives running. Bachmann and Santorum. Of these, Bachmann is more conservative and in few polls is around 13% in Iowa. If she can do well in Iowa, she gets a serious look.

I will never ever vote for Newt or Romney. Newt’s recent positions would do well in democratic party, but I just can’t trust him based on his policies in amnesty, GW etc etc.

Never surrender, never retreat.

Rasmussen also says, in a poll that 25% strongly favor Obama, so we have a baseline number for IDIOTS !!!!

I pledge to back the Republican nominee unless I am absolutely sure that Obama would be a better President.

Much of the problem here can be summed up in a rewording of the old Grocho Marx joke about country club membership: “anyone who would seriously run for President would have to be someone I wouldn’t want as President.”

You folks are not going to find a God-annointed, perfect candidate. If you could, we should just go back to rule by the devine-right of Kings. All we would need to do is fervently pray that God annoint each new King.

I don’t particularly care for any of the candidates or suggested candidates (from Palin to Romney to Paul to everyone else, they all seem very flawed to me); but with the possible exception of Paul, they all seem far better than Obama. And frankly, with the same possible exception, they all seem far better than McCain was three years ago.

Ras has clearly jumped a BIG shark... here with this Iowa “poll”, and combined with today’s pres index - within just a few days going from -20 to today’s -15. He’s gone over the deep end... and over to the dark side as well.

True to form, Romney holds steady at revolting 77% of the party.
Yes, and wouldn't it be ironic--ironic in a sad, grim, depressing sort of way--if that 77% could never unite itself sufficiently to prevent 23% Willard from winning Iowa.

I will be Iowa the next two weeks to check this out. My own internal polling (talking to family and friends) does not replicate this result.

It is just too convenient leading into the FOX debate tonight. Yawn!!!

Anyone who’s learned much about politics, propaganda and history shouldn’t be surprised.

Zeitgeist
http://www.archive.org/details/ZeitgeistTheMovie

Zeitgeist: Addendum (2008)
http://www.archive.org/details/Zeitgeist.Addendum

After watching the second video, “Addendum,” and seeing the many calls to support Ron Paul in that, go to the “Venus Project” (as also advertised in the video) to see what they’re about (”resource-based” world economy with all the world’s people owning the resources, and so on).

Then you’ll know the truth. BTW, anarchists paved the way for communist organizations during Europe’s decades past.

Mao wanted to destroy husbands and monogamy by putting all of the Chinese women to work away from their homes. He wasn’t as successful at that as our business, political and academic leaders in the Midwest. Thus,...the Midwestern political situation.

This is ridiculous. These polls are all over the place. One has Gingrich trouncing everybody, another has Paul shooting upward and Romney in 4th place, and now this one has Romney in 1st? I’m not bothering to vote if Romney wins the nomination. Newt, kick their butts tonight!

Rasmussen has some crazy stuff going on. Today the gallup Poll has Obama’s approval dropping to 42%. Rasmussen has him rising to 47%.

Rasmussen today has Romeny ahead. A new Newsmax/IA Poll has Romney in freefall in Iowa *Newt 27%, Paul 17%, Perry 13% and Romney 12%)

No way does Romney have that many people willing to come out to the caucuses and (literally) stand up and be counted as his supporters. Ron Paul might — his little band will walk through fire for him — but not Romney.
