1/4 butter
1/2 cup sugar
3 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1-1/4 cup flour
Melt the butter, and add sugar. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add the vanilla, and mix in the flour.
Place 1 tbsp of mixture into each slot in the pizzelle iron, close and cook for 1 minute. Remove and let stand in a warm, dry place.
When I was in the Navy over in the Med, my mom shipped me a box of pizzelles that she made herself...when they got to me, they had been so manhandled by the Navy mailing system, COD delivery to the ship and so on that when I opened the box, the plastic bag she put them into was crumbs and pulverized pizzelle powder.
In our jet shop under the flight deck, me and my buddies tore a hole in the plastic bag and squeezed the yellow powder into our mouths...delicious!
