Media And Republican Elites Target Newt Gingrich

The media elite and the Republican ruling class are remarkably similar in their political projection for the coming year. Journalists spent the entire year savaging every fast-rising challenger to Mitt Romney. The GOP's power pundits became equally agitated at the sniff of a conservative anywhere near the top of the GOP pack.

It's the odor of extremism that both the elites in the media and the GOP have detested — always.

So here we are, on the cusp of the election year, and both these groups have one primary target: Newt Gingrich. Both are using the same ammo: Newt is too unstable, immature, flawed and arrogant.

Or as power pundit Peggy Noonan put it, Newt is "a human hand grenade who walks around with his hand on the pin, saying, 'Watch this!'" The Washington Post's political cartoonist drew him as a suicide bomber.

I think they're stuck in the past. The candidate that people now see is not the self-styled "revolutionary" of the '80s and '90s. He's an older man, a wiser man, but a man that has a vision of both American history and the American future — and that's what scares the establishment.

What puzzles me is WHEN Newt becomes the nominee, what will they all say then?? Will they continue to bash him?? How can they and maintain any credibility??? Questions and no answers to the mess of their own creation.

Will Romney and Paul finally GO AWAY, or continue to torment us for the rest of their lives???

The real visionaries were America's Founders. Their ideas were sound and enduring, and the results were astounding, producing more individual liberty, more opportunity for more individuals, more prosperity and more upward mobility and plenty for more people over a greater period of time that ever has existed.

Their ideas have been erased from America's textbooks and faced almost total extinction from public places until technology made them available to every home with a computer and internet access.

The so-called "progressives" cannot compete with the "self-evident" truths of the Declaration of Independence--if those ideas are articulated and spread across the land.

Which candidate has studied America's Founders and their revolutionary ideas of individual liberty and limited government?

Which candidate can best uncloak the ideas of the "redistributionist" and reveal the bankrupt ideology of tyranny, masked as benevolent caring?

Upcoming presidential campaign debates require a candidate soundly grounded in the philosophy of 1776 and 1787, in order to begin to "regain the road which alone leads to peace, liberty and safety" (Jefferson's First Inaugural) and to rebuke the pretenders who desire power more than freedom for citizens.

“So here we are, on the cusp of the election year, and both these groups have one primary target: Newt Gingrich.”

I find that absolutely disgusting. Our country hangs in the balance and these worthless bastards are trying to force our defeat.

I’m watching Faux-Romney-News right now and if that TV hadn’t cost me so darn much money, I would have already sent it to Elvis.

GO NEWT GO.......

If you want to talk about a REALLY flawed extraordinary man, consider King David. Snagged another man’s wife, Bathsheba, while the husband was off in the military and got her pregnant. Had the hubby sent home on leave, hoping he’d have sex with his wife and thereby sort of provide cover for explaining the baby which was already in the oven.

The husband refused to sleep with his wife, declaring his loyalty to his comrades who were still stuck out on the battlefield; so David had him taken back out to the battlefield and put in the front lines where the odds of him being killed were greater.

And that is exactly what happened. Uriah the Hittite was killed in battle. David was guilty of a lot of other mischief, too; and paid for it by the calamities that resulted from his sin....like the death of that illigitimate child, for openers. But after he repented and sought God’s forgiveness, God Himself declared David “a man after God’s own heart.” David subsequently married Bathsheba and King Soloman, the wisest man who ever lived, by some accounts, was one of their marital progeny.

Last sentence:

“Maybe, just maybe, the country class has found its champion.”

They are going to pound Newt relentlessly. Even if you love Newt you will start to doubt him. Thats the plan. They are going to cram Mitt down our throats if its the last thing they do. Don’t fall for it.

Jim Thompson shows Newt is a pretty good fit to the Tea Party values: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2818986/posts?page=38#38

Rasmussen is also, I believe, in the Romney camp. They want someone Obama can beat with a feather. Romney can’t even generate enthusiasm in the primary season, how is he going to do it in the general election? Only conclusion is that they want Obama.

Ditto for me. I think Newt’s numbers will jump back up after the debate tonight. He will likely shine and Ron Paul will be his usual cuckoo self and Romney will look like he has a fudgecicle stick up his butt.
