Of that 55 years, his party was in charge the first 39 years. Guess he doesn’t like being a minority party, can’t be top dog.

That seat has been in Dingell hands for 75 years after he inherited the seat from his daddy.

He is also the longest-currently-serving member of Congress, the longest to serve exclusively in the House ever, and the third longest-serving member of Congress ever.

I think a mandatory age limit on running for congress is a good idea and a mandatory retirement age....senile old congresscritters are not needed...bet their staff run things when they get old..
