I think that we need to support any nation that promotes freedom and liberty. We also need to have a special relationship with Israel. That includes agreements to help them militarily if they are directly attacked, and free and open trading with them. I also see no problem with extending them credit to buy military hardware. I see problems when we extend our defensive borders to ANYWHERE in the world, for any problem. I see the problem as being that we are war, every minute, of every day, in far away lands, for people that hate us now, and will hate us more in the future. You can always find “friends” when handing out goodies. Cut all of them off, and find out who your friends truly are.
Last question - what's an intelligent person like you doing here at FR? I see you signed up just a couple of years ago, long after the typical FReeper went off the deep end (see just about every post on this thread not by you for examples).
It was a heck of a lot better place back in the pre-9/11 years, let me tell ya.
