Uh... if taking an oath before God, your wife, and your close family and friends doesn’t stick, how will signing a political pledge?

This latest ploy from Newt is as transparent as his lies.

On the surface, this does not play well for Newt, it just sets up too many retorts, given his history. But in reading the article, this was part of a larger social conservatism pledge by a group in Iowa for candidates to commit to. So I think it has to be placed in that context as well.

Newt supported Global Warming cap and trade with Pelosi (even though he denies it), supported ultra-liberal Dede Scozzafava over a conservative in the NY23 district, and advocated allowing lawbreakers (illegal immigrants) to remain in this country. Now taking an no-adultery pledge...smacks of more political opportunism. I’m not on Newt’s bandwagon...surely I would vote for him over Obama, but I would also choose to have gonorrhea over voting for Obama.
