Smirk all you want about Gingrich’s record as Speaker. Smirk all you want about his alliance with Reagan. Facts are facts. He did all the things he says he did. Bubba Clinton is so proud of Newt’s balanced budgets and welfare reform he takes credit for them himself. So you tell me who the egomaniac is?
The fact is, Newt took on big goverment and whittled it down a notch. He pissed off a lot of powerful interests along the way which is why they filed dozens of false charges against him and demonized him in the press. Just like Sarah Palin after she took on the insiders. Ring a bell?
Newt was Gingrichized before Palin was Palinized. He was Grinched before Dich Cheney was Darth Vadered. He knows the left and the elite’s battle tactics and he’s going to take them on once again. Your comparison of Gingrich with Ronald Reagan is delusional at best. Guess who else uses the “I” word when describing alleged greatness. Ah yes, it’s Obummer. But just like other candidates that have past transgressions, we are left with checking out recent screwups. Try wetback amnesty disguised as caring about breaking up families that have been here 25 years. I mean really, how many decent parents that were sent packing (deported) would leave a young child behind. Try waffling on kicking the UN’s derriere, try criticism of Ryan’s plan, try criticism of entrepreneurship, try DimCraps chomping at the bits to face him, try demeaning Michelle Bachmann in the debate. Gingrich is to the left of all of the candidates except Huntsman. Based upon statements at the debates, he is even to the left of Romney (not that Romney is necessarily telling the truth).
Yes the cocktail circuit wants Romney, and many of the anti Romneys have drifted from Palin to Perry to Cain (with Bachmann somewhere in the mix) are now for Gingrich as the last great white hope.
Gingrich is NO Ronald Reagan! And if you say pretty please, I’ll tell you if I thought up “egomaniac” on my own. BTW, my right wing credentials go all the way back to Barry Goldwater (before he moved toward libertarian). So it doesn’t behoove you to call someone that is to the right of you a leftist.
