This is the very first time I’ve heard of the President having episopalian leanings?

I am not familiar with the episcopalian teaching surrounding communion. Can anyone wander into their churches and receive without going through their religious schooling process?

Sounds bizarre to me, too. But, then again, this is the same denomination that allows practicing, out-in-the-open gays to be bishops.

Our local Episcopal church will allow you to to partake in communion if you have been baptized. If not, you can receive a blessing.

Were the Obamas baptized?

In the Episcopal Church, any Baptized Christian is welcome to take communion.

I wouldn’t doubt that Michelle was baptized somewhere along the line if her family went to a church. But I’ve never read anything about her religious history. Has anyone?

And Obama went to that Reverent Wright church where, although you were taught to hate America, you probably also got baptized.

If they were both baptized, the Episcopal Church allows communion.
