That’s not correct.

“That’s not correct’’< Yeah? Try telling that to a cop. The 4th. Amendment protections don’t extend to your car. The state gives you the ‘’privilege’’( a privilege is not a right) of a drivers license, the state can poke it’s nose into your car anytime it wants. I found this out the hard way.

If you think an officer asks to search your car and you are going to get back in and drive away after saying No, I believe you will find out different.
