Perry: Obama Decisions Gave Iran Spy Drone
Arutz Sheva ^ | 11/12/11 | Gil Ronen

Gov. Rick Perry, a contender for the Republican nomination for U.S. President, lambasted President Barack Obama Sunday for failing to keep a highly valued spy drone from falling into the hands of Iran's armed forces. Perry was referring to a report on Fox news, according to which the US military offered Obama different courses of action for retrieving the drone or destroying it when it came down on Iranian soil last week, but he rejected both options for fear that they would be seen as acts of war.

"This president now, with Iran getting one of our predator drones in their possession(…), he had two choices. Actually, he had three. He chose the worst," Perry accused. "And those two opportunities he had was to either retrieve that drone or to destroy it. And he did the worst of the three. And he did absolutely nothing. And the Russians and the Chinese will have our highly technical equipment now. This president is the problem," Perry said.

Rick is right. Obama’s acts might well be seen as an act of treason against the best interests of the USA. He should be impeached for this act.

Our Fascist, Islamic-Jihadist Appeaser in Chief, may not be a "Moose-limb" but he certainly appears to go out of his way to not "offend" (and in some instances, support) EVERY Islamic-controlled Country, be it siding with the so-called Palis, the Brotherhood, refusing to support the uprising in Iran, ect., while browbeating, berating, insulting and insisting that the ONLY "democratic" country (and ally) in th ME (Israel) take measures GUARANTEED to harm, if not destroy their country.

Nodoubtaboutit (and I've been around and voting since JFK) Barack O'Bummer is the WORST President in my lifetime, if not EVER!!!

Can we (and the free world) survive this Obamination???

How hard was it to enter Iranian Airspace with couple of F22’s and drop some HE and Napalm on that drone. And then deny everything,drone,bombing,etc..?

But the sceond most important issue is: how did Iranians managed to take control of the drone? 2 Options I see getting into control channel,is it not encrypted (Older drones used plain-text data for reliability, price reasons)? Or Manipulating, spoofing the GPS signal to make drone think it is some place else. Whatever it is,all of the drones should be grounded until we find out how they did it.

If i where the Mossad I would spend a good deal of effort to destroy that drone, since obviously US admin doesn’t care.

Why wasn’t it pre-set to self destruct, either on signal or per programming?

That’s how they did it. A’jad went out drone hunting with his handy anti-aircraft battery, and only just winged it, but that grounded it with its technology intact. The self-destruct mechanism got hit and blew itself up.

Dont know,it depends if they got control of the craft, then as far as UAV is concerned everything is good, and no need to blow up.
Self destruct is actually hard, you want it to happen when the good guys loose control of an aircraft, but you want it to be resilient enough for 2 scenarios, if aircraft is shot down the mechanics of self-destruct should still work, even if main computer doesn’t. Also,if there is a glitch, and you loose control of UAV temporary, you don’t want the self-destruct to activate on the deck of AC-Carrier. So you need to implement safety measures,etc.. My bet for liability reasons,no self destruct was even installed.

“This president now, with Iran getting one of our predator drones in their possession”

Not a bulls-eye, actually, it was a near miss.

It wasn’t a predator.

(You would think someone with a military background would know the difference)

How in the hell is this the President’s fault? Are we supposed to not use our drones because they might fall into enemy hands?

No. Use them. If they fall into enemy hands, either retrieve or destroy. Really, they should have some sort of self-destruct mechanisms, so as to avoid premature wars. But avoiding war with Iran is a loser’s game. It’s coming. There’s no getting around it. Why wait ‘til they’re ready. Get the drone. If they want to start an all-out war over it, the US is more ready now than they ever can be. Why wait ‘til they have the bomb. The US already has many, many bombs, but it’s better to take them out while they don’t even have one. The US has a whole fleet of carriers, naval aviators, high-tech planes, marines special forces. There are few militaries that can even compare to the US’. Iran doesn’t have one and never will. So get the drone.
