Newt seems to have no problem calling a spade a spade and taking the heat for it. The irony is that doing so only loses them the support of people who wouldn’t support them anyway. I would bet that they would win far more support than they would lose because “the people” are so starved for honesty that they would overwhelmingly support someone who had the integrity to tell the truth and take the risk.

Newt has issues galore but Romney just put the final nail in his coffin and Newt has moved into an acceptable hold the nose position for me (and a lot of others based on comments here.)

I agree it would be refreshing, but lets be honest though. Most people here on FR aren’t sheep and get their news from the big three, but a big portion of the voter block is. Putting yourself in front of the firing line that is the MSM over a question like that one will give your opponent and especially Obama backers great ammo.

He played it safe and opted for par instead of letting the big dog howl and exciting the crowd, to be honest I really never expected him to do anything less. If he had perhaps he wouldn’t be dropping so fast either, which is a very good thing imho.
