A deranged man pointed his gun at more than a dozen, and opened fire at random drivers and pedestrians in Hollywood Friday morning. The Los Angeles Times reports that some thought the gunman at the intersection of Vine Street and Sunset Boulevard could have been part of a Hollywood production, until Los Angeles Police Department officers fatally shot the man down. The Times reports:
“The attacks began about 10 a.m. south of Sunset, police said.
A young man in a white tank top was spotted walking up the street yelling and firing a handgun in the air. He then turned to firing at passing motorists who seemed to be picked at random, including the man in the Mercedes, police sources said.
The gunman was eventually shot by a detective and an off-duty officer who may have been working on a movie set nearby. Police have so far found no motive in the shooting. In addition to a gun, the attacker also displayed a knife during the incident. “
The gunman was identified later as 26-year-old Tyler Brehm. He shot three people, including one 40-year-old man in the jaw who was driving a Mercedes, and is now in critical condition.
The Atlas Shrugs Blog reports the disturbing development that few news outlets are reporting one witness’s claim that the shooter was screaming “Allahu Akbar.” This KTLA 5 report has the witness making the claim at (2:37):

Of course God is the Greatest... That to me is a tautology, like saying “Camembert is a Cheese”... or “rain is wet”... even atheists say the Bang was Big.
The problem (for the Muslims) is that God is Love. And in all things it is THAT God, the God of Love which makes man small and ultimately reasonable.
Put it to the test. Say you’re pissed off, and you lose it and start hitting somebody. Bam! Bam! Bam!
what will restore reason quicker. Repeating “God is Great” or “God is Love”?
Ever wonder why Muslims are in the habit of mauling already dead bodies while still chanting “God is Great?”

Why the references to the Mercedes?
Now if he was shooting at drivers of BMWs, I could understand it. But Mercedes?

This KTLA 5 report has the witness making the claim at (2:37)...In their defense, the news outlets were busy reporting how his ex-girlfriend called him a humanitarian who just wanted to help make it a better world.
