John Kerry had supporters who were veterans, as did George McGovern, LBJ, FDR, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. Yeah, that didn't work out too well for Kerry (he served in Viet Nam and reported for Doooty in case you weren't aware of that).
The point is, he has CMOH recipients supporting him that know him and call him a friend and that speaks to Perry's character.
