It WILL drop bellow 8....
It’ll be as fake as Obama’s hope and change but when you control the numbers they can be anything you want.

I will believe it when I see it. I am presently on disability dying to heal and get a job. Laid of 1/6/2010, still looking for employment. NO hope here.

Since the real (U6) unemployment figure is closer to 16%, (15.6% for November) it’s more likely that the rate will be 18% next year, not 8%!!

Shrink the job pool and you’ll have the illusion of lower unemployment!

The Food Stamp President is a pathological liar! I suspect that he could pass a liar detector test because he is one. If you have ever dealt with a pathological liar you can readily spot them. They can look you in the eye and tell you with a straight face that the tooth fairy is real ... and they believe it!

...Reversing structural problems in our economy that have been building up for two decades, that was going to take time. . . .Obama is talking in code and, while they know he is talking about more freebies for the bottom half, they DON"T KNOW that they will eventually pay for their freebies with their freedom and lost opportunity in the future.
What Obama is doing is the moral equivalent of a pedophile pretending to be a nice guy for a child by offering them a sucker.

Hey now, don’t doubt the man! He’s telling the truth here. As more and more long-term unemployed hit the end of their benefits and still can’t find work they also help out by no longer being counted as unemployed. What they are termed then is unclear, but they darn sure aren’t unemployed according to the Feds.
When there are fewer and fewer to count, it is a mathematical certainty that their made-up rate WILL go down in time for the elections.
REAL unemployment rate? Ain’t no such thing in the Obama administration! LOL
Hey, if you keep taking unemployed people off the roles, pretty soon we'll have a 0% unemployment rate while keeping unemployment payments to the people who aren't counted anymore at an all time high, in order to stimulate the economy, just like Princess Nancy says.

His remarks draw a sharp contrast to the interview he gave shortly after taking office saying if he didn't have the economy fixed in three years, theres going to be a one-term proposition."
I wonder if the contradiction is brought up in the interview...wait- its 60 minutes...
Obama added that while he thinks it is possible for unemployment to drop to eight percent by November, he is focused on the elements he can control to get the economy moving again.
I wonder if they'll remind him about the stimuloss...wait- its 60 minutes...
"Reversing structural problems in our economy that have been building up for two decades, that was going to take time,"
right dumbass- because things were "structurally sound" when carter left office...what a dumb POS- the GOP should beat this moron senseless with his crap talking points- these are the gifts that keep on giving...

Sure. When a few million people run out of Unemployment next year they will magically be considered no longer unemployed.

You betcha. The MSM will start butt-licking his reelection chances by pimping him again like it was 2007. I’m hedging towards 5% unemployment, or whatever the MSM comes up with..
I’ve said it over and over again: whomever controls the media will win the election.

The drop from 9% to 8.6% was caused by the BLS dismissing a while bunch of people who have quit looking for work. They are still unemployed, just no longer counted.
Given that, if the economy doesn’t improve, and I doubt it will, the BLS can probably discount more people every month and by spring or so the unemployment figure will have miraculously dropped to 8% or so. It will be a pure lie, but numbers lie, right?

To: cableguymn
You are right. It will drop to 8 or below by playing with the numbers, the same way it dropped to 8.6 last month.
To: cableguymn
Sure it will. Enough people will have stopped looking for work and thereby drop off of unemployment statistics to make the unemployment rate go down.
To: RatRipper
I wonder if Kroft asks him specifically what these structural problems are. It would seem like a logical follow up.
