He was converted through the funeral of Pope John Paul II if I remember correctly. I avoid saying negatives about Newt. However, no matter what, he converted because of Calista. This had nothing to do with the Pope or repentance. It was all about Calista. That's it.

That simply not true. Wile Calista had a significant role in leading, he was aboslutely compelled when he started to research JPII.
