Newt Gingrich declared in an interview that Palestinians are an "invented" people, though his campaign afterward claimed the candidate still supports the establishment of a Palestinian state. The front-running Republican presidential candidate made the comments in an interview with The Jewish Channel. The interview marks some of the toughest language to date any candidate has used to describe the Middle East peace process. It also comes after Gingrich pledged at a forum earlier in the week that if elected, he would name John Bolton -- a hawkish, pro-Israel former U.N. ambassador who served in the George W. Bush administration -- as his secretary of state.

Newt is right about this one.
And his remark about picking John Bolton as SOS was smart.
Historically he is right. The old Roman term covered a majority of the middle-east but you don’t see other countries there giving up their land for ‘Palestine”. The recent ‘Palestinians” are refugees from Lebanon and Syria with modern ‘activists’ thrown in. If they were serious about ‘returning Palestine’, Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan would all need to step up and give up their lands too.
There goes the media's 3 week infatuation with Newtie. How dare he speak the truth about a protected class !!
Stone him !!!
They are. About time the truth was told.
He’s exactly right... they are invented, but why support a Palestian state?
Of course, they wouldn’t have any place that would welcome them, but I guess they could disguise themselves as Iranians.
Newt is pushing the right buttons. He improves his support on a daily basis. The base is clearly more anxious to hear someone who will fight than they ever will be about the PC ankle biters who are bent on hitting him rather than Obozo. This ought to really piss off the Newt will implode folks.
I’ll bet Christianne Amanpour is about to have a stroke. LOL!!!
Newt will never be my first choice, but if he is willing to expand on this sort of truth and plainspeak, it will make the thought of pulling the lever (touching the screen) for him a bit easier.
Newt is 100% right. There is no such thing as a Palestinian people or even Palestinian culture. They are just plain old Arabs.
It can be said Americans are an invented people can it not?
No, we are not an invented people. Does not a country called the USA exist? Show us where, at anytime in history a country called Palestine existed, especially when it existed exactly where Israel stands today. Since there was never a Palestine there never existed a Palestine people, therefore they are an invented people. Americans MADE their country and became Americans after the country was formed.
So if they have a country they will become a people?
FTA: “Gingrich pledged at a forum earlier in the week that if elected, he would name John Bolton — a hawkish, pro-Israel former U.N. ambassador who served in the George W. Bush administration — as his secretary of state.”
Okay, right there he got my support.
Interesting concept. I'm still very much in awe of the King ~ this was divinely inspired.
Then, we were reinvented in about 1676, then again in 1775, then in 1861.
What I find interesting in this is the fact that the Palestinians can't bear the fact that their "nation hood" is a recent invention. They imagine it's an insult to live in an "invented" nation. We consider it a visible manifestation of God's Grace.
There's not going to be any communication with these people possible until they finally realize they owe it to the West for their liberation from the Ottoman Empire, and to America for their liberation from the British and French!
Actually, we were invented by King Philippe II/III (of Spain). It is an incontrovertible fact.
I would say you are either a muslim or a some other Jew hater.
Newt’s right on. They are but rejected Arabs and as pointed out their neighbors could easily give them land for their country. They’re a manufactured, financed populace.
The English are Johnny Come Lately's to the Americas ~
BTW, Virginia counts its history from the very foundations of the first Spanish permanent campsites on the East Coast. We were a nation created by people who are themselves known to history. We invented ourselves ~
Calex59, AMERICANS believe that they created their nation ~ why you don’t want to believe that is a good question. Do you think somebody else did it?
