I will say EXCELLENT choice....because that is the first and only handgun that I personally own. :) It's a freakin' hand cannon; just love it.
Since she has access to mine already, I'll find her something else....but your taste is impeccable. :)
You cannot go wrong with a big Ruger revolver as they are solid, reliable powerful weapons
I have a few Rugers in my collection including the GP100:
SP101 KSP-331X .357 Magnum/.38 Sp 3 1/16” SS
GP100 KGP-161 .357 Magnum/.38 Sp 6” SS
Super Redhawk KSRH-7480 .480 Ruger 7.5” Target Grey SS
Super Redhawk KRSH-9480 .480 Ruger 9.5” Target Grey SS
The two .357s shoot amazingly well. My GP100 is my .357 workhorse. The .480 Ruger calibered Super Redhawks are serious weapons which are totally devastating. The factory Hornady ammo is loaded close to its .475 Linebaugh cousin with massive blast and recoil effects that will shock you.
Consider the Ruger LC-9 with a laser a great pocket or purse CCW.
