In context, it sounds like he was commending the intent to try and craft policies that could lower costs. From a conservative POV, that could be he was wanting them to look at lowering barriers and removing regulations.

Unless they produce a letter of him suggesting how the government can get involved to improve healthcare, this is another unfounded accusation by opponents.

You are absolutely right. And if you watch the famous YouTube clip of Herman Cain questioning Bill Clinton about Hillarycare, you’ll see that before he asks his question, he starts by COMMENDING Clinton for tackling the national problem of health care, just like Perry did.

The poster thinks that somehow it is unfair to point out that Gingrich actually DID support an insurance mandate, simply because apparently Gingrich has talked so much over the poster’s head on the subject that the poster now thinks Gingrich has refuted the charge.
