Nothing is either “right” or “wrong”, ‘tis thinking makes it so.
Human beings have a continuous process going on in their minds that keeps weighing the various factors that go into the decision of how they may frame an answer, or ask a question, or reply to another statement, all going through a filter in their forebrains, of what is best, for ME, right now.
Depending on the audience and the impression one wishes to make, the message is tailored and edited, with one interpretation one time, and another, sometimes diametrically opposed expression, in a different context.
Truth is a slippery thing, like nailing Jell-O to the wall, and alternative rationalizations eventually cover the past actuality up so much that nobody can ever get a handle on what really happened.
Which is why you want to live longer than anybody else, you get to tell the stories your way, because who is left to disagree?
It is daunting indeed to reflect upon the fact that intelligence chiefly developed as the enabling power of convincing lies, deception and cunning.
Even more daunting is the duty of acting well even if our ancestors were murderous and cannibalistic rapists for countless thousands of years.
