UPDATE ON MY DAD:

DEAR ALL,

I have to get final quiz and closing administrivia fully ready for my 16:00 class. So I won’t be able to respond individually today.

I just got off the phone with my Step-Sis:

1. Dad evidently also had a heart attack Sunday. The left or right part of his heart is not working much at all.

2. All the indicators are that he is in the advanced stages of dying.

3. They are willing to put him on a morphine drip. He’s evidently on the borderline—every 3-4 hours he gets agitated from the pain and gets a morphine hit without the drip. If they put him on the drip, he’ll stay at the hospital till he passes. The hospice can only handle other means of administration of morphine. My sister will press the point, if necessary.

4. I’ll stay here and have whatever eternal impact I can have the last session with each of my 2 classes with my students here—one today at 16:00 and one on the 13th—until after the 13th. He’ll likely be gone well before then. I’m not really up to making the trip, myself, as it stands now.

5. ALL Y’ALL’S PRAYERS TOUCH ME VERY DEEPLY AND HELP TREMENDOUSLY TO KEEP ME GOING. THANKS MORE THAN I CAN EXPRESS.

6. Sorry I can’t respond well today. Will try to catch up later this evening or tomorrow.
