Hope he has a pain management doctor. They can make his last hours much more tolerable. If he doesn’t have one try to get his attending physician to call one in.
A hospice facility usually has a pain management specialist. If you father is not in one it may be a good idea to get him in to one. Hospice has been a blessing to several friends at their last days.

I hope that I can ask this. Why is he dieing? Broken hips, though painful, aren’t usually fatal. What other afflictions does he have?
