aflatoxins are horrible! I lost a little 1 1/2 year old Jack Russel female to that. It wasn't in dog food it was something in my back yard, we never figured out exactly what. The liver biopsy came back aflatoxin, which is a natural substance not a chemical. She suffered terribly for 3 weeks while we did everything to save her. 3 weeks and $3000. later she died in my arms. I was broken hearted.

Ditter, I am so sorry for your loss - it is so hard to lose a beloved dog, particularly when they are suffering at the end.

A lot of people do not know that atafloxin can be a big problem with peanuts/peanut butter. For some reason, in some seasons, it is a bigger problem than most know.

Maybe it is related to mold? Could your little girl have gotten into moldy tree nuts? Might be worth doing some research -
