Savage was asking about why is there more lack of manners now.
Oddly enough when others have asked this question, they point to the media. They cite kids who imitate Bart Simpson (I hate seeing this when I go out to eat.)
They also point to people in the news, from politicians on cable news programs to the very hosts themselves. Putting somebody else down has become the norm, especially when the next guy outdoes his competitors. (Or hers, nowadays!)
Life imitates art, or vice versa?
P.S. I’ve had people ask me how could I listen to talk shows when everybody’s so rude, callers and hosts. I think it’s like so many things lately, there’s is some good signal if you’re willing to sift through the noise.
KSTE is the worst radio station technically that I have had the misfortune to encounter since I started listening to radio in the early 1940s.
Yes, it is mostly automation for sure but it's been going on for years and years 24/7. No one who works there listens to the station I guess. This week at the start of the Imus show ads ran for five or six minutes over the audio of the show everyday except this morning. Finally someone who works there was up at 3AM to hear it. I guess.
They've even started the wrong show! One that's not even on their schedule and it ran for 20 minutes before someone noticed and switched to the correct show.
“lack of manners”
So-called role models is my guess.
CHRISTMAS FAMILY HORROR STORY: In Puerto Rico, a roasting pig EXPLODED all over the place because my Uncle Fernando forgot to drain all of the blood out. My Italian mom was engaged to my Puerto Rican dad back then (it must’ve been around 1964) and she was the one closest to the pig. Legend goes that she was drenched in blood from head-to-toe and that she resembled the chick from the movie “Carrie”.
LOL.
I’ll remember that tip if I ever roast a pig!
Uncle Fernando killed the pig with a machete (a swift cut in the neck), but apparently didn’t drain all of blood out. Additionally, he forgot to remove its intestines!!!
“forgot to remove its intestines”
Yikes. Uncle Fernando having too many cervezas before cooking?
The more things change the more they stay the same?
Nowadays people learn the hard way not to microwave an egg. Nor a pig, I guess.
...Mmmmm, chitlins!
Let’s just say he was “young and naive”... LOL...
It's bad enough this station runs outdated weather forecasts, but last weekend they actually ran a forecast for another station in another state. This station runs weather forecasts through a cable station that serves a couple NE states and they flubbed the weather forecast, no one blinked an eye. They sometimes run the Thursday forecast on Sunday morning or Monday morning I will hear the forecast from Friday nite.
During the day and night the broadcast goes off for long periods of time - dead air. One nite they were airing a foot ball game and for a 1/2 hour they played nothing but the same Compass Media ad over and over and over again it was around 11:10pm or so and I think it may have been half time not sure - I was half asleep.
And as with the Sacramento station they actually ran the wrong program - it was 1am and they were supposed to be airing coast to coast instead they ran a few minutes of Roy Masters, he does not have a program on the station I listen to so I have no idea why it was being run. Another time they were supposed to run coast to coast and instead they started airing a replay of the morning show from the day before. Unfreakinbelievable.
