On further reflection, I think the real problem is the disastrous state of our education system and the subsequent impoverishment of our public and private dialogue. The classical writers and the Founding Fathers had an unabridged dictionary’s worth of vocabulary to discuss the topic of manliness. They did not need to dwell upon their testicles.
And as a side note, doesn’t it indicate a lack of even the most basic manly fortitude for writers to use a foreign language (usually incorrectly, too) instead of English terms for their genitalia? Have the courage of your cojones, machitos!
