Dozens of protesters staged sit-ins in front of lawmakers' offices Tuesday and several hundred more camped out on the National Mall as part of a new movement calling itself "Take Back the Capitol."
U.S. Capitol Police said one person was arrested for unlawful entry at the office of Rep. Vicky Hartzler, R-Missouri.
Borrowing language from the Occupy movement and drawing demonstrators "from Occupy sites from coast to coast," the movement says its goal is to affect congressional legislation.
"For far too long, Congress has been catering to the 1% instead of representing the 99%," the movement says on its website, 99indc.org. Protesters will push Congress to renew unemployment insurance and will focus on "other important budget and tax measures," the website says.
"Now more than ever, Congress needs to see us and hear us."
The group is calling its setup "The People's Camp."
Groups from different states went to lawmakers' offices Tuesday.
About a dozen people were conducting what they called a sit-in outside the office of House Speaker John Boehner. One of them, John Reat from Ohio -- the state Boehner represents -- told CNN, "I've been unemployed for 24 months, and that's why I'm here. And we're not leaving until we talk to the speaker, or they close the building, whichever comes first."

I surely am not in the 1% and these people do not speak for me and I do not agree with their positions. So either I do not exist or they are lying about whom they represent..........

In many if not most countries, he would have found work before he and his family died of starvation. This gummint just enables these sad sacks.
Obama/Soros/Democrats/Unions want 100% control of the economy by bureucrats and Leftist think tanks who work on behalf of Government.
Government declares income fairness, healthcare, morality, religion and allows some businesses to prosper (solar, for example) while disallowing others (oil production).
To a Statist, the Government is God and they, as controllers of the controllers, are in effect, “Gods.”
Soros has admitted to a God-like self-assessment...Obama is called “The Messiah” and the sheeple who adore free goodies that the other guy pays for are more than willing to fight for what they never worked for but is “owed” to them.
OWS is merely a manifestation of impatience and years of Leftist indoctrination coming to fruition. You are rich because you stole it, and Obama throws gas on that fire.
He marginalized the OWS today because of politcal expedience, but he is a Marx-Alinsky follower, he supports a USSR-style society.
They are stupid beyond words but at least pointing in the right direction now instead of Wall St. :P
