I think you already pulled the other one, my FRiend. As I’m sure that you know, Texas state colleges, like every other state’s colleges, charges tuition. If you want to make the claim that the difference between the in-state tuition rate and out-of-state tuition rate is being paid for by Texas taxpayers then you’d be wrong. Texas would lose money if they were to charge the out-of-state rate in that scenario: economics 101, charge more for a product or service and consumers will find a cheaper alternative; in this case, they would establish residency in another state that offered in-state tuition rates. Not only would Texas be out the in-state tuition charge, they’d also collect less sales tax and property tax revenue.
