On private call, Republicans say attacking Obama personally is too dangerous

As long as the candidate doesn’t focus 100% on whether or not Obama has a long form birth certificate they’ll be fine. That’s what happened to Trump; he asked Obama to show a piece of paper, and Obama did, and won the only battle Trump was waging.

Obama is polling at about 38%. No one has ever gotten re-elected who fell below 41% except maybe Truman. By next Nov 6th the Republicans could run a corpse and win.

What you have to remember is that the die hard Dems like your relatives will always vote for the Dem and the die hard Pubbies will always vote for the Republican. Its the independents who sway the election and in the last election there was also a new dynamic; the guilty white vote for a black. That dynamic will not take place in 2012. America is getting over a bad case of jungle fever and next time around they want a White guy back in the Oval Office.

I predict a Republican landslide not seen since Reagan beat Carter.

I never thought McCain could ever bring himself to attack Obama at ANY given time. Juan was wayyyy too awed and impressed by him.

McCain’s people slapped the gag on Sarah Palin after she began launching into direct attacks on Obama in 2008.

Palin was only doing what every VP nominee has done in modern times -- ie. "quarterback" the offense. McCain didn't have a clue what it took to get elected. She does what everybody should expect her to do as a loyal lieutenant and her CO stands back while his paid staffers publically woodshed her. Disgraceful.
