I had a `72 Dodge truck with a 318 and a 4 speed stick with granny gear. I pulled shrubs and small trees out of the ground with it and a chain. Re-built the carb, no extra pieces left over on the kitchen table, wife didn’t leave me. Worked out great!
Growing up I had a ‘67 Coronet 318 2 door, then a ‘68 Coronet 4 door (mint shape, man I miss that car), then a ‘76 Plymouth Gran Fury 4 door with the 318, but it had a 3 on the tree also. First gear would blow the motor at about 30, but the thing would put down a strip of rubber just as long as you wanted to step on the gas.
