Personally I have become tired of all the liberal moderators and don’t have a problem with it.

Knock Trump all you want, knock Cain all you want, knock Newt all you want, knock Bachmann all you want, knock Palin all you want, knock Paul all you want, knock Santorum all you want, but at least these folks, although far from perfect, are challenging and getting in the face of Obama, his Democrat Party, the media, etc., something that is badly needed within the GOP!!!

These good folks are ten times better then Romney, Huntsman, Rove, the RINO bunch and the Republican Establishment dregs, that just roll play dead and make nice with Democrat “dirt bags”. I am still ticked off big time at “whimp” John McCain playing footsie with America hater & destroyer, POTUS, “Muslim Brotherhood” Barack Hussein Obama!!!

Why should we adhere to media’s role for us and our candidates!!! I say, do it our way, and if someone slaps you, you slap them back with equal or stronger force. I am overjoyed to see Trump rant & rave. This country has one shot, IMHO, of making things right for all Americans, and first things first, POTUS Obama must politically defeated in November, 2012!!!

I say Pubbie, guys & gals, attack, attack, attack!!! Being politically correct has got us nowhere!!!

Thank the citizens for giving The Donald, “The Ratings”. It is the American Idol voter syndrome.

Correct. And I saw that syndrome in full force here at Free Republic. It would piss me off that the DWTS threads would get 200-300 replies or more. All fawning over Bristol Palin as she flopped around with whoever.

I would make snide remarks and the moderators would zot my comments. But I just failed to see how endorsing pop-culture would benefit a serious GOP contender. In the end, I think Bristol hurt her mother's chances. And in the end, I think the Donald will hurt Newt's chances as well.

I don’t care for Trump at all, but what he’s doing here is what any American can do, without asking permission from the government, the parties, or anyone else.

What’s stopping Sarah Palin, any of the Reagan family, Bush family, Clintons, Michael Moore, or ANY American of any political stripe from doing this, thus increasing their own political power by creating something from nothing that might become an established go-to place like The Tonight Show? And who asked The View or Jay Leno to become kingmakers?

I couldn’t care less what Trump does. He’s merely exercising the freedom we all have. I’m just wondering where true conservatives who want to influence the race are. Why aren’t Rush, Levin, Palin or others I like doing this?

I would venture to say that it is because 90% plus of the voting population doesn't follow politics like we do here. Like it or not, though, they vote. They generally vote herd mentality which is going with what is the popular person at the time. Trump (no matter how much we can't stand him) represents a door to the pop culture masses to get your message to them. Trump may be in it for Trump or for money (frankly, nothing wrong with that, at least it is honest), but he should be seen as tool (pun intended).

Dealing with a lot of different types of tools is part of the job, even clowns like Trump.

It is however, why I laugh even more at Ron Paul and his holier than thou attitude when 1. he always whines about being ignored, and 2. he sees no problems frequenting Alex Jones' or James Edwards radio programs.

(analogy, it was stupid that King Arthur had to prove some antics by pulling on a sword that some watery tart left in a rock instead of proving his leadership, but that is just what he faced so he stepped up..)

I don’t mind Trump playing kingmaker as much as I mind Boehner being speaker.

Since WHEN did Donald Trump become the GOP Kingmaker?

Early this year after he shot to the top of the GOP polls by discussing jobs, trade deficits, China's cheating and other topics many Americans believe are at the root of our economic decline.

Even though the GOP candidates are mostly afraid of those issues, they know Trump has credibility with many voters on critical issues. That's why they are paying deference to him, and to a lesser extent because of the possibility that he might launch a third party bid, and to some, his pressuring Obama on the birth certificate.

(Love the way Trump is trashing Rove on Hannity just now.)

Yes, Donald Trump isn’t a Conservative—Yes, he has come out on the wrong side of some of the hot button issues Conservatives hold dear—BUT he is a Capitalist and a Patriotic American—he is saying the things that need to be said. He is getting out there and adding to the debate—Ask yourself—what have you done? We haven’t the resources of a Trump but we can work for the people we like—we can help the process—How many Letters to the Editor have you written? How many talk shows have you called in? How many rallies have you attended? How many way have you helped to bring down the wrong headed rule of the Progressives? Lets see what Donald has wrought before we come out with snarky Bad hair comments and jokes about his ego? President? maybe I wouldn’t vote for him for that high office but, I know in my heart that he is 100 times better than Obama and his crew of Neo-Marxists.

I'm backing off on a lot of this political BS right now; but I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Trump slap the snot out of Karl Rove on Hannity's radio show a few minutes ago...normally; I have the radio off this time of day, but got busy and left it on...Trump said that "Karl Rove is full of crap" among other things...Hannity kept quiet as a mouse.

Yeah - I hit Report Abuse on you. While I disagree with SOME of what you said; I’ll repost it without the f-bomb. Cause I love a good rant.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Trump is a ponzi scheme snake oil salesman who has lost money in almost every RE venture he’s invested in over the last 18 years.
He personally owns and endorses a get rich quick scam called Trump Institute. http://www.ripoffreport.com/directory/The-Trump-Institute.aspx
He personally owns and endorses a line of MLM ponzi scheme with knockoff substandard Chinese sourced ‘vitamins’ and ‘weight loss supplements’ and energy potions. Trump Network.
He outright defrauded several hundred investors in a recently failed Mexico condo project. http://www.worldpropertychannel.com/us-markets/residential-real-estate-1/real-estate-news-donald-trump-trump-ocean-resort-baja-donald-trump-jr-ivanka-trump-irongate-developments-kevin-brass-international-property-journal-2182.php
Donald Trump has personally corrupted and bribed State and Federal officials to deny Native American groups in the Mid-Atlantic and New England the State and Federal recognitions of their heritage so he could maintain his Atlantic City gambling monopoly. Then he lost his Atlantic City Casino control for an outstanding loss...
Donald Trump is a total (bleep) scumbag of the highest order.
Any GOP candidate willing to share a stage with this goon should automatically be disqualified from being posted on FR in a positive light.
THe very fact this scumbag is hosting a major political debate is proof positive the country has already collapsed and we have entered a new dark ages.
And all you idiots who bought the Apprentice show and books can go bankrupt on your own dime.
Donald Trump is NOT a Patriot.
Donald Trump is NOT a Capitalist.
He spends millions of dollars annually to PR flaks to convince gullible idiots like yourself otherwise.
Trump has no problem renting politicians and has done so repeatedly, and has done so repeatedly, he has no problem buying and has repeatedly bought legislation to imposing laws that are barriers of entry to his competitors, he has no problem expatriating profits to avoid taxation, he has no problem defrauding investors with no intention to deliver his side of the contract and has done so repeatedly, he has no problem defrauding small entrepreneurs through ‘educational’ scams and multilevel marketing scams that have been prosecuted across multiple states and countries. The man has personally lobbied to deny Federal recognition to Native American tribes to maintain his gambling monopolies.
The man has personally bankrupted tens of thousands of small businessman in this country and abroad... to his personal benefit... his PR flaks have primed you to one day be his future target for defrauding, try to free your mind and learn the true machinations of this scumbag.
Since WHEN did Donald Trump become the GOP Kingmaker?
Since he is willing to put up to 250 million in the game.
Face it folks, when a billionaire a few times over decides he has had enough of corrupt government, he can, by the use of his own money, be a king maker.
There are parts of the political sphere, parts of FR that I just avoid at all costs, like Mormonism threads and religious threads in general, the threads seemingly meant to force Laz to reply, the threads about cats, etc.
Anything Trump is on that list, sometimes I can’t avoid saying something about it. He has been one of the most corrupting influences on New Jersey politics and especially the South Jersey GOP politics for the last generation since the Resorts bankruptcy in the late 1980’s.
When the Apprentice TV show was at it’s peak and Freepers were posting weekly threads, I tried to mention some of Trump’s real world grime, to no avail as the fanboys and fangirls hoisted praise and hoisted their own dreams of wealth and fame onto him.
If you want to find the real brains and the real deal behind Trump for the last 30 years, go find George Ross and listen to the man’s every word. He had run the Trump family businesses since Don Jr was in diapers ad still is a ‘emeritus’ chief counsel, he teaches a course at NYU, and he has not a single good word to speak of Donald Jr in the classroom, actually uses him as a bad example to not follow...
This is one of them.
Trump does not have 250MM of liquid cash and assets to do so. It’s all bluff, everyone in the know in NYC and DC inside the Beltway knows it. It’s all a game, you’re getting suckered into it.
AFAIK , Trump has a real net worth of negative value right now, if he sold an asset he personally owns to raise capital for a independent run for President, he would be immediately sued in the US and abroad for the entire sum by multitudes of shafted partners, investors, bondholders suppliers, government taxing entities, banks, investment groups, etc, he owes creditors more than one could possibly imagine.
Trump would have to liquidate a major holding to raise the cash, the very act of proffering the sale will bring the disgruntled creditors out of the woodwork.
