Even if Cain had been vetted, it doesn’t mean that these things wouldn’t have happened. The Democrats were going to get rid of him no matter what.
To assume that these are anything more than outright lies, is to assume that he was guilty of everyone of these accusations. And today, there is still no definitive proof that he didn’t anything wrong. Other than not telling his wife about loaning money to a lady.
I agree. Cain probably did not do anything wrong. But they whould have made him tell them everything that could have even been misconstrued as “off”. They should have been the ones to check his phone records and ask him about the calls, etc.
