Never put a whole lot of personal faith in politicians - even aspiring ones. They generally all have massive ego's and often believe they can get away with anything.
How many times have we asked "geeze, how did XXX think he/she could get away with that and still hold/run for public office"? We will be asking that question till the last human being is gone from the earth.
There are a lot of decent politicians, but you should always keep a healthy measure of skepticism and never put too much faith in any of them. Remember during the CA recall the press and Democrats were claiming Arnold was a serial groper? We all wanted to see Gray Davis beaten and tended to defend Schwarzenegger by writing off the charges as media bias. Well, he was pretty much what was claimed. Heck, he even impregnated and had a baby with the family maid. Never, ever, put too much faith in politicians. If you do, you'll get burned.
I didnt really believe the bimbos, but now that he has dropped out, I guess there was at least some truth there.
Ginger White was on Lawrence O’Donnell a night or two ago and I part of the interview. She was believable even though there is disagreement between what she claims and what Herb claims.
I don't think they will...it will be Bachmann or Santorum because they are mindset at electing what they perceive as the perfect conservative...which is their highest priority...unfortunately there is no perfection in any of the candidates so they will be disappointed no matter who gets the primary IMO....because if Bachmann or SAntorum get it it won't be long before we'll hear them squealing about how they were lied to....We've seen this behavior time and again....
The the best candidate needs to be as close to conservative as possible...and understands that without this country being secured against the Islamic threat...and the Pres. understanding it as that...it's not going to matter one iotta who is conservative or not.....it will pale in comparison to our country being infiltrated and the Islamic agenda which is already here.
I think Newt's plan on immigration isn't just about the Hispanic illegals....important to know he's going after the muslim population by his plan and that so they cannot continue to use our system against us..and stop their infilitration into our country.
My understanding is his wife knew of Cains wanderings, even if we'd othherwise wish that were not so. It's one thing to know that, it's another thing to have it play out in full view of the audiance. I don't think his wife had enough grit to go the distance....remember she's a democrate and they really are weakkneeded when it comes right down to it. Cain said the decision was HER'S to make if he continued or not....that was a huge heads up for me.....he was going to roll and be done. When the going gets tough Democrates bail...and she certainly would follow suite in that respect concerning her decision.
His wife has saved her face in all this....Cain though has unfortunately lost his.
I was never on the Cain train, I had doubts about him from early on. Something he said way back made me suspicious of where his loyalties would be if he became POTUS. Feeling that way I didn’t care one way or the other about the bimbos because I wasn’t going to vote for him in the primaries. If he was the Republican nominee, of course he would get my vote.
His 9-9-9 plan sank him. not the bimbos, his own plan. But he still has that 8% who can’t count past ten without taking off their shoes or make so little that no tax plan effects them
Whoever the libs hate the most I’m for.
Cains suspension of his campaign will only embolden the liberal smear machine to go out and commit similar acts of personal destruction against the other candidates. Liberals cannot just settle for defeating their opponents politically; the MUST destroy them personally.
The left cannot settle for political victory. They NEED top destroy their opponents lives. Otherwise, theyre never completely satisfied.
Liberalism is founded in contempt for other people, thus the need to destroy people personally if they poke their head above water. Especially minorities, whom the libs view as their property. Literally.
What do you want to bet Cains campaign rakes in money in large amounts over the next several days?
Without proof, neither nice or smart to hypothetically judge others by ones own mores.
At least he can figure out that there is no such thing as man made global warming. Is this the best you have?
II remain a Cain supporter and I will not back Newt. Everyone on here who continues to shill for the man is blind to the truth. So, Newtists, he won’t have my vote...I don’t need to vote for the “smartest man in the room” who can’t decide if he is a Conservative or Liberal these last few years.
Newt has a lifetime 90% conservative record..... a senior fellow with the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank. He is also a constitutionalist....known for leading the 1994 Republican Revolution that swept the GOP into the House majority for the first time in over forty years, and he deserves immense credit for that. He is no way a rino and his record attests to that.
I have no reservations whatsoever that Newt is 100% for our country and devoted to it’s prosperity. His record attests to that as we have seen on FR....
We all know where Newt’s mis-steps were...and guess what...not significant to the peril this country is in and the abilities he has to get congress to move on what we as conservatives need them to move on.
Am sorry you cannot understand the whole picture ‘yet’...but I think in time you’ll see why people are agreeing to support him....and even those who do have some reservations. Newt’s the best chance we’ve got to take out Obama and to put the breaks on the trajectory this nation is on...and that’s simply a fact.
BTW..Cain’s no longer running in case you missed the news.
His 90% rating reflected his voting record while in Congress, correct? Someone on this page posted his votes while in Congress and it was anything but Conservative on many issues. However, as I said, this was his record while in Congress...what has happened since he has been out of office is a different matter. And, he has been wrong too many times. Maybe if you’d realize this fact, you’d know what I meant. The problem with Newt is that he HAS to be liked by the DC elites....this is his acheilles heel. I will vote for him over Obama, just not in the primaries.
If that were true he would have not accomplished what he did. Wouldn't have happened. It isn't about being liked or not..it's knowing how to get those who oppose you to your way of thinking and Newt does more than well at that.
Newt's voting record stood in favor of conservatism for the most part...and when otherwise he has explained why he has differed....or opposed...often times because he saw the larger picture which would have been unfavorable.
Certainly no politician has completely satisfied us all...and neither will Newt now or in the future. But Newt hasn't been sitting on the sidelines since he left Washington...he never really left. He's spoken out his entire career about issues and has been involved in the political issues all along.
Further there is a difference in Newt today then before....he's always been for our country and has been spending years working on how we can change the trajectory it's on..of which he identified even before Obama was in office.
I am certain Newt loathes Obama and what he stands for....and understands him as well as it's possible. I will vote for Newt because he is set to take Obama out of office...and has plans layed out on getting rid of the rest from day one and plans to accomplish that....additionally how he intends to turn the tide in Washington and put the breaks on this downward slide.
He hasn't just said what needs to be done...he's layed it out how to do this. No other candidate has such details nor plans outside of the usual talking points...Newts on a roll to get our country back..and that he'll even sacrifice his run if it means getting the word out to the people. He's not going to be stopped from that "mission".
Newt just flip-flopped on another issue...this time, abortion. This is his problem. He is such a “smart” man, but he can’t decide which positions to take on core Conservative issues. What has happened since he left office? BTW, saying that because he accomplished a lot during his time of speaker doesn’t mean squat if he can be easily swayed by the likes of Pelosi, etc. Newt is a slimy politician...he is no better than Romney. He is also the most unelectable of the group. Great, so he is “good debater”, but if I were the DNc, he’d be my first choice.
Just so you know...there’s an annonymous group sending out fliers and false information accusing Newt on his abortion stand....here’s what Newt really states:
Gingrich position on Abortion
Pro-Life
Yes
I think that abortion should NOT be legal.
The American View, 2005
Federal ban on abortions
Adoption
Supports
And in that sense that we want to move the society as rapidly as we can that people should select adoption rather than abortion and that... choosing abortion is not acceptable.

I think that Planned Parenthood should be defunded, and I think its a very significant issue to say to people, Should your tax money go to pay the leading abortion provider in America?
