Herman Cain is expected to make a "major announcement" today, anytime between 11am and 1pm EST in Atlanta. The media is assuming he will quit the race. Politico is positively glowing with anticipation of this. Will he fold, or FIGHT? He is also opening a new Atlanta HQ. Twitter reports that people are jamming in early to show their support.

We simply don't know what will happen, or when it will happen. What are your thoughts? Do you think he should quit? Or do you think Cain should stay in the race and deny the State-Run Media yet another GOP scalp on a platter - for unproven allegations -while they allow a vile rapist like Clinton, or commie cokehead like Obama breeze through unscathed?

The problem for Cain isn’t the accusation, but how he handled it. I wouldn’t find it hard to handle the accusations made against him. And since he KNEW he had been accused of sexual harassment, he needed to have VOLUNTEERED the information up front.

Why?

If he had truly done nothing wrong, why in heavan's name would he?

If somebody falsely accuses you of raping you, would you go around offering up that information without it being brought up by someone else?

I agree with you, LadyLuck. I rank Cain rather low as a substantive candidate, but I want the voters to decide, not the Obama campaign assisted by its lapdog media.

Since the story broke:

1. He’s not all commitments; even with the quisling Union Leader though they had already announced for Newt-

2. His fund raising efforts and techniques have increased- even as of today. .

3. Instead of shrinking— he’s been ubiquitous.

4. All week long- he’s been emphasizing that it’s his wife’s decision – when at the same time, what he’s really been teeling America is -—I am a committed family man.

So, if he stays in, this would be pure “genius”- and the reason he should be President. EVERY other GOP official in our memory CRAWLS when attacked by the media– Mr. Cain would be the FIRST to turn to the media and the Chicago Daley Machine , extend his hand, and make an obscene gesture.

I will grant Mr. Cain has his weaknesses on policy- BUT, if he pulls off this orchestrated plan, then everyone will see why he has been such a success in life. Policy wonks are commonplace. On the other hand, “STEEL BACKBONE” that allows a person the courage to stand up to overpowering and unbeatable forces is very rare- and the mark of a true leader!

If he stays in and campaigns against the Establishment that’s trying to run him off-— you’re looking at our next nominee-— if not, regrettably, I’ve played the fool again.

Mccain was in fourth place and he won. It is still an open ball game.

People say this, but they forget that McCain never bottomed out into single digits, he didn't fall as hard and as far as Bachmann or Perry, and his rise was already starting by this time in 2007. None of the bottom four candidates - Bachmann, Perry, Huntsman, Santorum, are on a rise like McCain was in 2007.

I'm not a big fan of Newt, but unfortunately if we are going to look at 2007 as a guide, Newt is in the best position to be compared to McCain, with Cain taking over Giuliani's roll.

However, Cain is in a lot better position than Giuliani was, and the media is discovering that it cannot completely destroy Cain, even though they are putting their effort into it, and even have Fox News on their side.

If you can see it and I can see it, and a lot of others on this thread can see it, what’s up w those who still don’t get it? The left are supposed to be the sheeple. We are supposed to be able to recognize leftie smear tactics, and not allow the liberals to pick our candidate.

What I’m hoping beyond hope, is that he struts out there with Ms. Ginger White and she says this whole thing is a lie.
