I'm a Cain fan, but I'm guessing he's going to throw in the towel today. I hate how this smear campaign has done him in, it's possible for him to overcome it, but what dirtboy said is correct. The one true fact is that he sent money to this woman without his own wife knowing it.

Colossal mistake.

I'm still going to defend him, because the smear campaign was obvious. We can't continue to let the MSM destroy every one of our candidates. Romney is the only one I won't support if he wins, we may have to rally around someone who will not be our perfect candidate to beat Romney, then rally around them to beat Obama.

I'm still hoping that one will be Cain, but I am right now doubting that's possible.

The one true fact is that he sent money to this woman without his own wife knowing it. Colossal mistake.

And then he doubled down on that mistake by not coming clean with his wife when he decided to run for the GOP nomination.

I hate the idea that the MSM will feel they have another trophy on their wall to put up next to Palin and Quayle and others against which they have waged their campaigns of slime.

But IMO this latest revelation by Cain himself was entirely avoidable, yet he did not understand or did not care that he needed to address it in advance because of the doubt it would sow if it came out during the campaign.

Thank you. If he stays in today, do you promise to publicly support him here on FreeRepublic?

I'm sorry but my husband sends money to campaigns without telling me at times. He has also given money to friends without discussing it with me first.

These are not large amounts of money and I don't care if he does it or not.

If he had done this back when we were a young, struggling married couple, I would definitely have a problem with him giving money when we could ill afford it. I think that's the key here. The wealthy think and live differently than we. what appears to be a huge financial decision to us is but a drop in the bucket to them. Nothing more than tossing change in the Salvation Army kettle. JMO....
