Can you imagine if government was constrained to spend 80% on actual services and no more than 20% on overhead?

Actually the burden rate would probably exceed 85% for ObamaCare.

The bomb is known by another name, price fixing.

When prices are fixed, supply diminishes

Same accusations of selfishness and self-centeredness apply to those who refuse to use CFL’s. If we don’t go along in any of their “programs,’ then we are self-centered and hurting others.

Who do you think will become a doctor under your scenario?

Who do you think will begin a medical practice under your scenario?

What has happened to longevity and old age in the last 30 years? Do you think that is overpriced?

I know several young (50-60 yrs old) doctors who have “retired” in the last few years in anticipation of this abomination of a “health plan.” Just who in their right mind would spend many years training and take on the responsibilities and liabilities of practicing medicine under these conditions?

obamacare = stay healthy or die.

-——stay healthy or die——

Well duh

By not taking the personal responsibility to stay healthy what results? Un health and atrophy and eventual death.

The need to take personal responsibility for one’s health can not be equated to Obama care. Failure to be aware of unhealthy living and laziness with regard to learning about one’s health will always be a factor in early death. The obesity of young America is going to result in an overall decrease in average life span in spite of Obamacare.

Death by laziness is a darwinian mechanism at work.

What this will really do is allow hospitals to raise rates on insurance companies and increase pay for unionized care givers, while the government portion of their pay shrinks.

Recently in WA state the SEIU put a measure on the ballot, requiring two weeks of training for “care givers”, both in home and in institutions like hospitals or nursing homes. The trick was that the state paid for the training only for those who joined the SEIU. If the worker refused to join the SEIU, they must pay the $360 for the two week certification out of their own pocket. Then, the SEIU dues, $30/month, are deducted from the medicaid or medicare payment that the worker gets from the state, even if the worker is getting paid to take care of a family member, at home.

The real kicker is that our Catholic hospital system in Bellingham was taken over by Peace Health, the socialist Catholic health organization that supports Obamacare, and recently decided that all the nurses would start working 8 hour shifts instead of 12 hour shifts as a cost cutting measure. The reason is that the hospital has decided to hire these SEIU two week wonders instead of LPNs and needs the RNs spread out more to supervise the SEIU workers and perform duties that the SEIU workers cannot perform.

This idea comes directly FROM doctors who have just recently opened a new practice which does not accept insurance, though they will give the patient the forms they will need to get to their own insurance company. They do NOT bill. They charge a flat fee. That’s it.

In their first month they made a profit. They didn’t expect to be profitable for several months, and with no established patient base, they made a profit.

Does that NOT tell you something? I have been inside the medical and dental fields for many years in the past, insurance companies are leeches. They are middlemen who literally rob both patients and doctors and the entire medical/dental fields blind.

Abolish Insurance companies and literally you will cut out about 30% of the cost of medicine. Overnight.

"I can’t wait to confront the Ba$tards at my mandatory end of life counselling.

As far as the end of life thing, you'll most likely get a random visit by the men in white in the middle of the night. It wont be anything like "hitting 30 and going to Carousel". They will just show up unexpectedly and escort you under armed guard.
