Dividing along party lines, the House of Representatives voted to end public financing for presidential campaigns. On a vote of 235-190, the House also eliminated the Election Assistance Commission, a group that among other things certifies voting machines, The Washington Post blog 2chambers reported. The bill, that was proposed by Rep. Gregg Harper, R-Miss., heads to the Democratically-controlled Senate where its fate is uncertain. The White House said it opposed the measure but did not make a veto threat, the Post reported. The bill also would end public funding for the Democratic and Republican national conventions. The two groups have already accepted $18 million each to stage their 2012 gatherings, the Post reported. Removing money from the system, and from international interests, and instead injecting the requirement of effort by individual USA citizens makes more sense to me. The huge amount of money in the system corrupts it instead of improving it. I strongly believe that less money equals a better system and I'm sticking to it. More money injected equals more corruption.
We need to remove lobby money, require voter ID, and require voting machines that give an auditable voting receipt. Why would we not have all these requirements if not to allow voting fraud?
When will they vote against family and friends vacations, kobe beef and lobster, golf and body guys?

Paying for their wine and cavier while being waited on hand and foot by military officers aboard a government owned jet, like Nancy Pelosi and her entire family, is something that needs to end. Being able to give hundreds of millions in “loans” that don’t need to be repayed to political allies and donors is something that needs to end. Public funding of campaigns is also a stupid, pointless waste.
Candidates raising their own funds for their own campaigns is a good idea.
There’s absolutely no Constitutional authorization for the Federal government to be giving taxpayer money to political candidates. None.

We're where we're at not because we elected some bad people, or passed some bad laws, or had some bad luck.
We're here because our culture is rotting. It started at the heart and soul and has now spread to the head.

I appreciate the input which is why I posted this. I fully understand that there are different beliefs on this. My opinion is that lobbyist money needs removed from the system and in its place should be individual citizen effort whether it be the NRA or NumbersUSA. We the people should have control and not UN or Wall St or global lobbyists that want to remove the 2nd Amendment and the right to restrict immigration or trade.
If I as a citizen support a candidate then I need to work for that candidate, and not turn over the reins of the government and people to those international and global interests with the most money. This is about the USA sovereignty not world money.
I’m for removing all money with strings attached.
The reason so many want to invest money in elections is because the govt is in control of so many aspects of our lives and our economy. Until that changes, tweaking the process is pointless.
