1998 was the last year that Gingrich, Paul and Santorum were all in Congress. Gingrich’s annual and lifetime ACU ratings were better than both of the others:

(100% = perfect conservative voting record)

100% - Gingrich: Annual 1998 ACU Rating (90% Lifetime Rating as of 1998)

88% - Paul: Annual 1998 ACU Rating (88% Lifetime Rating as of 1998)

84% - Santorum: Annual 1998 ACU Rating (83% Lifetime Rating as of 1998)

Did sitting on the AGW couch with the moon bat crazy San Fran Nan enhanced his conservative rating? How about calling Rep. Ryan’s modest plan to address the budget deficit “right wing social engineering”? What of Newt’s stated support of an individual health insurance mandate? How about the million+ dollars he took from Freddie Mac? Newt may have been conservative at one time but he has not acted like a conservative for a while now. In my opinion Newt has acted like a DC establishment, big government loving, liberal republican for the past 10 years or so.
