1998 was the last year that Gingrich, Paul and Santorum were all in Congress. Gingrichs annual and lifetime ACU ratings were far better than both of the others:
100% - Gingrich: Annual 1998 ACU Rating (90% Lifetime Rating as of 1998) 88% - Paul: Annual 1998 ACU Rating (88% Lifetime Rating as of 1998) 84% - Santorum: Annual 1998 ACU Rating (83% Lifetime Rating as of 1998)

12 is a lot more than I would have guessed. My recollection was that Newt voted very infrequently when he was Speaker—maybe ACU scored a lot of votes that were expected to be close so Newt voted in them.
What you say is a reflection of you. I will vote for the GOP candidate.
LOL!!! Still can’t and haven’t yet read the post to which you first made your asinine and ignorant response. Proof positive of my description of you.

My, my such venomous spewing. Must be a liberal.
You owe Sudetenland an apology. The quote that so offended you was not from him, he was making a reply to the quote (thus, the italics). The original quote, BTW, was dripping with sarcasm.
Civility is SORELY lacking on FR these days. There will no doubt be more purges for those who lack restraint or promote the wrong candidate. :(
You know what? I do owe you an apology. I missed the quotation marks and with sincere humility ask for your forgiveness. We all make mistakes and I see now my remarks were meant for someone else. You and I probably are in agreement on much of what is being said about the candidates.
Oh boy! You are correct. I feel absolutely embarrassed. Guess I had better wear my glasses. I did miss the italics.
My apology has been issued and I humbly thank you.
By the way, TitansAFC is very much pro Gingrich and his comment was indeed sarcasm.
Good and thanks for understanding. I have been busy with some home related problems concerning our old dog. Looks like he is just about to go. The old boy is about 17 years old, almost blind, no hearing. He wandered onto our farm as a pup and has been a great companion for all these years. He survived being attacked by a couple of coyotes when he was about two years old. Would have likely been killed if my wife had not shot them with her mag-44. I was not here on that day. She managed to get him to the vet where several huge tears were stitched and his right front leg was practically torn off at the shoulder. He recovered and was back at it in less than a month. A tough little fellow. Our vet said if the perfect dog could be bred, Boogie-Boy would be the one.
I’m glad all is well, then. :). Carry on!
Santorum voted against NAFTA, which has been a disaster, IMO. That’s why his rating is lower. It’s selective use of statistics at play here. Bob
Did sitting on the AGW couch with the moon bat crazy San Fran Nan enhanced his conservative rating? How about calling Rep. Ryan’s modest plan to address the budget deficit “right wing social engineering”? What of Newt’s stated support of an individual health insurance mandate? How about the million+ dollars he took from Freddie Mac? Newt may have been conservative at one time but he has not acted like a conservative for a while now. In my opinion Newt has acted like a DC establishment, big government loving, liberal republican for the past 10 years or so.
Here’s another poll on the GOP race that just got started, so the numbers are very skewed right now. Everyone can forward it around to anyone planning on voting in the Republican GOP primary or caucus, in an attempt to get a larger and more representative voting base:

This poll is a joke. Including two write-in candidates, one of whom withdrew from the process and the other never entered it, is either delusional or ... I can’t think of what else. It’s just delusional. The choice is between the candidates that remain, like them or not. Then the choice is going to be between Obama and whoever wins the GOP nomination. Those who choose to be delusional and add to the mess by withdrawing their vote from either the primary/caucus process and/or the general election will sit at home feeling righteous and smug, and the country will pay the price.
The time to start a third party is not when the country is urgently threatened by a second Obama term. To say otherwise is simply irresponsible. Now, if this election goes wrong and Obama is re-elected, then it is time to go to the nuclear option (politically speaking). Or if the GOP candidate is elected and then proceeds to govern in a Rockefeller-like manner, then it is time to form a third, truly conservative party that will in due time lead to the end of the current GOP.
