A lot of people on here did as well... What isn’t mentioned is that at one point late in the 2008 primary season Romney has considered the last, best hope for beating McCain. The support by conservatives for Romney was more strategic than any real desire to see him win. However, it’s now a different story. Romney is the “McCain” of 2012 (except hopefully he loses the primary)...

I voted for Romney in the primary in 2008. Why? Because it was the only hope of keeping the primary open, and hopefully have the choice made at the convention. It was 100%, pure, anti-McCain.
