I’m a Newt guy at this point. Im just saying if he starts gloating, getting full of himself, he could see some backlash. There’s still a month left. I just worry that he’s going to think he has this wrapped up and some of the old tendencies will reemerge.

I just think he should remain modest and humble like he has been so far. He praised all the other candidates at the debates, was always the elder statesman/grandfather type.

Now, some good polls and he’s talking about the race being over, even ahead of his master plan, already planning the debates with Obama, etc... I just think he should tone it down a bit.

I get part of it. He’s on the verge of maybe the most stunning political comeback in US history. His whole staff abandoned him for Perry when Perry looked like the hot new thing and now Perry is toast and Newt is crushing him. It must be very satisfying. He’s in position to finally put it to all those in the party to turned on him. I just hope he can control his demons.

Good point.

His instructions to his team not to attack Romney seemed like the move of an elder statesman, a step in the right direction.
