I think we held on to the White House in 2004, actually. Fellow named Kerry lost, long face, French-looking, served in Viet-Nam

But didn’t we lose both houses? Didn’t a lot of state legistlatures also turn during that time?

Dear marstegreg,

In 2004, the Republicans increased their majority in the United States House of Representatives from 229 seats to 232 seats, and increased their majority in the United States Senate from 51 seats to 55 seats.

2006 and 2008 were the wipe-out years for the Republicans.
