I would politely listen, but then I would say “That’s great, Francine. But I really need to make schedule.”
Maybe people hinted to this guy for a while, then told him to stop doing it, but he kept on doing it. So they fired him.

Like I said... Keep this kind of conversation out of the work place. There are people that don’t want to talk about it.

And for what it’s worth, that’s why Growing Pains ended. No one wanted to sit around and listen to Kirk Cameron talk about God all the time.
