Must defend the new “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic”. I’ve watched it. It was a well written kid’s show, for at least the first season. In my college generation, most college kids that I knew watched children’s animated shows. It was the 90’s, so we’re talking “Ren and Stimpy”, Tiny Toons, Eek the Cat, Animaniacs, Muppet Babies and the animated Batman. It was a common bond for any kid on campus. We’d tape the shows, watch them together and sing songs.

Let’s stop picking on college kids for liking MLP. Get back on target here and focus on the bad guys.

“Get back on target here and focus on the bad guys.”

Right. That is the point.

Predators go where the prey gathers and is off guard. Perhaps this fad is simply and indicator of how infantile ‘adult’ discourse has become. But I will watch an adult ‘bronie’s’ appeals to children very, very closely, and with very deep suspicion.

Yeah, except that many “bronies” aren’t stoned college kids, but 40 year old sex offenders and other weirdos. Also some of the shows you mentioned like R&S weren’t necessarily aimed at children.

the animated Batman

I was watching that (did so religiously and still think it's one of the best animated works ever) when the WTC was attacked in 1993 and knocked the station off the air.
