Should parents of anorexic children lose custody?
Should parents of depressed children lose custody?
Should parents of socially inept children lose custody?

...and the list goes on, where does it stop. If it didn’t start to begin with things would be a lot better. One can argue till the cows come home, but government has no mandate or right or power delegated or loaned from “the people” to take children from parents or for that matter a thousand other things they do because the people deem it necessary.

...and yes there is an obvious conflict on the one hand, the people desire the government to be ever concerned with everyone’s rights. In this case that of children, but at the expense of the parents. Government should not be allowed anything that an individual would not also be allowed. I cannot as an individual go in to someones home, and remove their children, thus I “the people” cannot grant such power to government, and it is only from “the people that government has any power.

yes, just like any other treatable medical condition which the family has failed to treat despite 20 months of monitoring and being offered every possible service and support

the kid started dropping weight

Then piled it back on real fast- Mom said she “tried” to stop the other kids from feeding junk food to fattie
She “tried”- and failed. She can't control her own home environment.

This child is gonna die young if the state doesn't get him into treatment

All good questions and we all know that once a foot is in the door it isn’t long before it swings wide open. Do you know if the parents can sue? If so, they should and keep it up. Has to be some way to stop this nonsense.
