I want to.

They’ve all got major issues at this point.

People supporting Newt Gingrich have nothing to say about a candidate who engages in adulterous affairs.

Previous "smears" on Cain have vanished like farts in an Arctic windstorm after being debunked and/or the accusers knew they were on thin ice to pursue it any further with Gloria Allred pro counsel or on their own. This one imho will also fall by the wayside. Clearly a month ago people were droning on that it was the end of his campaign but he survived three attacks to still come ahead in state pollings and receive steady donations

Have a look at the graph from Real Clear Politics of the various candidates' polling. Herman Cain is in red, the line that is in vertical freefall.

So you’re spending your time finding things wrong with the people we do have?

Seems counter-productive.

Yet they are saying plenty as they gloat over unproven allegations against Cain.

I haven’t called either side liars which are strong words.

But any honest review of what is known doesn’t favor Cain.

The woman chose Fox to go to instead of CNN. Cain chose to go to Wolf Blitzer at CNN to make the denial before the Fox Atlanta station aired it. Someone told him before it aired that it was going to be aired.

You clearly have chosen sides against Cain. I’ll come out and say it, you seem to be on this thread, on behalf of another candidate.

Which one?

Thanks.

All we know is that he contacted this woman and has kept in touch for 13 years.

Unless you’ve got further evidence, there’s nothing here.

If the media gave this woman air time to discuss her “affair” withe Herman Cain, shouldn’t they give Larry Sinclair air time to discus his limo fling with Obama?

I do NOT trust this Gngrich surge, I smell a McCain/media foisting

All of this proves the wisdom of not going "all in" so early on a candidate. The process has to work -- and, for the most part, it will. Including, unfortunately, the smear campaigns as well.

Gingrich's dirt is already out there, if people are willing to review it and make sure they can live with it if he gets elected. And I don't mean his personal dirt (of which he has truckloads). I refer to his political weaknesses, including his lack of a strong conservative gut instinct.

As people refocus after the holidays, it may be that they'll start pondering the reasons they wrote off Newt (time and time again) in the first place. If so, it could affect his support.

So we need more than one viable candidate going into the stretch before the early primaries.

“Why with every one of these accusations against Cain there is not one single smoking gun?” <<<

The smoking gun is that the girls are all broke, in debt, jobless and cranky.

That is not to say that where there is this much smoke, the odds are there was a fire, or two.

This is no time for scandal either, given the football coaches adament denials, which then turn out to be false denials. My theory is that voters are in no mood for the miscellaneous distractions, no matter who it is, while Rome burns and our issues can’t get a hearing for all the rabbit trails the press is on.

Cain has been off his game and chances are he knew this was coming. He has lost his good cheer and nearly all his confidence and certainly his energy lately. I thought he looked like he didn’t feel well. Surely, others have noticed the same.

While we would hope that this is a coordinated false attack, evidence in the story suggests that Cain is in fact guilty of infidelity.

Powerful men have been know to have affairs like this and keep it a secret.

The reports say that they woman has 61 voice and text messages over the last months during non-working hours from Cain and she is not working for him.

Also, read what his attorney says. It is carefully worded and does not deny the relationship.

Here is what the attorney says:

“Late this afternoon, Cain’s attorney, Lin Wood, sent FOX 5 the following statement:

“Mr. Cain has been informed today that your television station plans to broadcast a story this evening in which a female will make an accusation that she engaged in a 13-year long physical relationship with Mr. Cain. This is not an accusation of harassment in the workplace – this is not an accusation of an assault - which are subject matters of legitimate inquiry to a political candidate.

“Rather, this appears to be an accusation of private, alleged consensual conduct between adults - a subject matter which is not a proper subject of inquiry by the media or the public. No individual, whether a private citizen, a candidate for public office or a public official, should be questioned about his or her private sexual life. The public’s right to know and the media’s right to report has boundaries and most certainly those boundaries end outside of one’s bedroom door.

Mr. Cain has alerted his wife to this new accusation and discussed it with her. He has no obligation to discuss these types of accusations publicly with the media and he will not do so even if his principled position is viewed unfavorably by members of the media.”
