In breaking news this afternoon, a Georgia woman is claiming that she had a 13-year affair with Herman Cain. She says she has documents (whatever they might be) which can back it up. In what can only be described as the guiltiest-looking no-comment statement in the history of politics, Cain’s lawyer offered this absurd response (especially hilarious parts in bold):

One of two things is true about this statement. Either Mr. Cain and his attorney are basing their views on what is an appropriate subject of media scrutiny for political candidates on the way politics work on another planet (perhaps another galaxy, even), or they are basically trying to telegraph to us that he completely did it. After following Cain’s campaign for the last several months, I would say either is equally likely. After all, basically the only reason a Presidential candidate would take a principled stand against admitting or denying that they had a multi-year affair on the woman to whom they are still married is if they have some principled objection to lying about having completely done it. And if that wasn’t the intended message, then Cain’s communications operation is even worse than we thought – which is really saying something.

Cain should simply withdraw from the GOP nomination process and fade away. He has become too much of a distraction for the party and the people. This is a waste of time and energy away from real issues and Obama.
Doesn’t matter..any vote for any republican is one vote less for Obammy.
Assuming he stays in the race, and I do assume he will, I believe he will not get the nomination of the Republican Party, unless very quickly this accuser is proven to be a liar.

Tell me about your sex life then. We want to know all the details! I can imagine your response and you’d be right. Cain denied it. The America people can decide if they believe him or that woman.

The amusing thing is, this woman is already being torn apart here for being a litigious dirt bag. That may be true, but then why was Cain friends with her? And what on earth was he doing supporting her financially? And yes, he did say that. Herman says that is the reason she had his phone number, because he was helping her financially. So is she a litigious dirt bag, or someone an aspiring US President feels worthy of being friends with and helping financially? At minimum this seems to be a display of terrible judgment, and isn't that what Cain keeps trying to sell as part of his candidacy - that he doesn't need to know much because he will choose great people to have around him?

If it were Clinton everyone here would believe the women immediately. But it’s Cain so everyone wants to give him the benefit of the doubt?? Sheesh.... A parade of women alleging sexual harassment. A claim of a 13 year affair that ended recently. Oh yeah... he’s innocent. :)
I know, when a candidate of your choice fails, blame someone else.
