There is no ‘gays’ in the source title. It’s fags, queers, homoes, poofters, otherwise you’ve surrounded to their language, their happy definitions of perversions!
The Salvation Army is the one charity I’ll always donate to, if for no other reason than the way they reacted when a rather wealthy community was flooded. While other charities decided that the wealthy suburb didn’t need help, the Salvation Army showed up with coffee and sandwiches, along with buckets and mops. The didn’t give out all that much of value, just some bologna, coffee and some bleach.
It was easy to say, “This is a wealthy suburb, they don’t need help,” but many of those flooded out were elderly folks and people who bought houses in the area before it became a toney suburb. ...and as someone who survived a major fire, I know how important it is to get help right after a disaster. When you find yourself without a home or anything in it, you do need help in the short run, even if you have insurance.
The Salvation Army came in and helped people who had just suffered a serious loss without looking at their race, color, creed or social status. ...or for that matter, their sexual orientation.
I do not put money in the kettles.. I found out last year that those bell ringers are not members of Sally but as paid by the hour... That just isn’t right
Christmas donations make up the bulk of the Salvation Army budget. The kettles are manned by volunteers in my area. However, in some areas there just aren't enough volunteers to man all of the buckets, and they have to hire people.
Have you considered giving a couple hours of your time to help the Salvation Army help those in need?
