From memory, I had the opposite problem as a kid. I was a beanpole who didn’t gain an ounce and mom tried such things as feeding me lots of high fat food to no avail. Now I wish I had that problem, as adult years suddenly saw a great fattening of my waistline.

Same here. Except for one sister, six of us looked almost anemic, while one was always heavy, and she ate less than the rest of us. It took fifty plus years, but the rest of us caught up with her.

Kidding aside, I know two teenagers, who were grossly over-weight until middle school. Both sets of parents tried all kinds of diets, but none worked. Time took care of the problem on its own.

AT 13, I was 5'6" tall and weighed 150 pounds. At 14, I was 6" tall and weighed 150 pounds.

The problem took care of itself.
