Perry was also Lt. Governor of Texas so the point that opposition makes about Perry being governor of a state with a weak office doesn't really fly.
the other point is that Sheriff Joe is a man of principle and he has an extensive record of achievement and is loved by conservatives. His support of Perry doesn't change that yet there will be some on FR (not you) who will begin to malign Sheriff Joe because of this endorsement. This endorsement seems to be based on principle since Perry is polling nationally around 10-14%.
Cain people will throw anyone under the bus who endorses Perry.
One dude a week or so ago was railing against Rush because Rush said one kind word about Perry.
Rush had spent the previous week 80% of his time defending Cain.
