NBC News has confirmed with a source familiar with the matter that Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Arizona, will endorse Rick Perry this week.
Arpaio will campaign with Perry in New Hampshire this week, the source said.
The Arizona sheriff is known as a vehement backer of tough immigration laws and was a vocal supporter of his own state's controversial enforcement laws.
Perry critics have described him as soft on immigration since the Florida debate, when he called opponents "heartless" for deriding his policy of in-state tuition for children of illegal immigrants in Texas. .

Sheriff Joe’s endorsement carries a lot of weight. I guess he went with what
he thought was the pick of the litter. Perry’s stock should rise with this news.
Arpaio will be on the trail with Rick

I remember when Sarah went and met with Rick. Do you think she would endorse?
Heads would explode!
***** “ The choices 3 years ago were huckleberry/romney/mccain and the sheriff picked romney out of that weak class. Now, it is Perry or Gingrich and he chose Perry, I dont see a problem, what else could he do. “ *****
I picked Palin ... what else could I do?

Yes I know all of this. SO does Washington. Perry and AG Abbott have BOTH asked the FEDS to do their job.
Both have been ignored. The Dummies hate Perry. Can’t stand the thought of him closing that border. Where will they get their voters after all?
(Even as bad as Romney is and was ... he was still better than McCain ...)

Strike #2.
(Strike #1 was endorsing Butch Napolitano for AZ Governor)
I don’t trust Perry on immigration any more than a child-molester in a schoolroom. However, I do not think he will sit still on border security.Since the candidates are proving so distressing I am inclined to hope that a deal was made and Joe gets DHS internal enforcement & Perry the border. With one caveat: My cheap labor bosses tell me that you get to kick out as many as possible until I can pass a “guest-worker amnesty scheme”....
BUMP!
Will it be enough? That’s the question now...
Love your tag!
He is planning on campaigning on the road with Ricky. If he gets an endorsement from Sarah, well ...
“I wouldn’t be surprised if she endorsed Rick”
Agreed, and Arpaio’s endorsement is just the beginning of more endorsements to come in Perry’s rebound. And I agree that Arpaio’s endorsement also carries a lot of weight and Perry’s support will EXPLODE once Palin endorses him and campaigns for him.
Palin was probably Perry’s highest profile endorsement in his reelection campaign last year and she helped propel him over the top.
Ah, your little ping list! Here, let me help ya out for some talking points:

I haven’t believed the rumors that Sarah was endorsing Newt. I just can’t see that!
I would still prefer Cain, but if it’s Romney, Newt, or Perry, I’ll take Perry any day.
The Right is looking for someone to support. Look at how we have cycled through each of the candidates.
It’s time to takes a look at Rick Perry ... and rally around a winner.
